Browsing Problem


Sir

Iam using redhat linux el3 as my squid proxy server with 512kbps speed.
and my client machines are windows 2k. but when i browse using IE6 or Firefox the speed of browsing is very slow. but the download speed is well.


can you pls help me to improve my browsing speed.

try pinging www.google.com and post the avrage delay. I have seen connections have fast download speads but will have a lot of delay, and you will only notice it while browsing. A 512 connection *should* be under 100ms delay.

That will be your problem. I've seen dial-up connections with less delay. 490ms would be equivelent to about 2-3 seconds. remember that's per page before the page actually starts to load. You might want to run a trace route to find out where the delay is.
