I am reluctant to recommend 64 bit to anyone at the moment so while waiting for a better reply try the GPL 32 bit download from your fav mirror.

(2) Thankyou for telling us what troubleshooting you have already done. I am guessing you may still have some issues with the way the modem has been configured. Generally speaking Linux prefers router/modems

3) pls read this HCL thread on alcatel on how to configure and good luck

thank you aus9 for your help..
the problem have been solved by re-installing mandriva linux 2006 64bit edition. I think maybe the problem that ive configured my alchatel speedtouch330 by mistake wrongly and then i ve configured it right.. but some bugs just wasnt deleted from the previous configration that made it lack..
but now i've comfigured it right at the first time so the speed of brownsing now is even more fast than browsing on windows!
weird isnt it?? But thanks to linux and all the people in these forums for there help and support for linux newbies
