Question Browser and Network problems

I am sorta of a to Linux. I installed Redhat Linux 7.0 (kernel 2.0) on a 2 gig x2 formatted drive about 6 months ago. The only thing I have been able to get it to do is to play all the games (yes), mess with the window manager, and put the talking fish in the bottom tray.

1. Why, when I scroll in my browser, do the test and pictures intermittently disappear and force me to scroll like 5 times to get it back?

2. How the heck do I get Linux to connect to my 100mb network and my cable internet?

3. How do I change the resolution so I can actually see the whole control panel?

Note: I have an 866 mhz computer.

Can you please help me with these problems?

Also, how do I transfer files between Windows ME and Linux?

Lastly. once the internet works, where can I get a Windows emulator for Linux?

P.S. Why does Linux fill up my RAM up to the top when no programs are open? I have 128 RAM and I am getting 256 more.

What browser are you using, if its netscape try upgrading it, also try mozilla.

use netcfg to set ip addresses and other networking options.
If you still can't get it to work post specific problems.

use Xconfigurator to set the resolution Or if this don't work you could try to use XF86Setup, you may have to install it.

If you see there is no swap file in use you are ok

To see what is using it run top or gtop in X
