Broadcom bnx2 driver statistic rx_fw_discards

Could someone please help me out with the meaning of this statistic from the bnx2 driver?
rx_fw_discards, they count under "ifconfig" as "dropped". The older 1.4.4 driver I have doesn't have this statistic.
Any information apperciated!
