Question Broadcom 5705 on Debian Linux

I have just bought a Dell Latitude D800, but i can not get the netcard working with Debian Linux, Sarge kernel 2.4.20.

The nic is a Broadcom 5705 Gigabit and i have downloaded some drivers from 3com.com, but when i try to insmod the module after compiling it, i get a unresolved symbol on every line of the insmod resulting in innsmod faliure.

Does anybody know how i can get this working?
