Bridge or internal network? What should i do?

Hello.

I have an ADSL and a Router 3com812,with 4 outputs, now I have my onw server with linux and I would like that my windows computers will be protected for my linux machine as a firewall.

Must I make an internal network with NAT for the windows machines?if yes....HOW?

Any help will be appreciated,I have Mandrake 8.1 and
Redhat 7.2.

Thanks

why NAT ?

Hi ,

Why do u need NAT ? U want them connected to external world or any other specific reason ?

I have worked only on RedHat . But still u can use the ipchains utility to accomplish NATting .

Search for ipchains tutorial on www.google.com and also read the howto on www.linuxdoc.org.

basically for NATting u also need to do ipforwarding.

Maybe if u give me more details i can help u out.

Hi!

I have a ADSL Router and would like that my two windows machines will be firewalled for my Linux machine.

From Router to Linux machine for the first network card eth0
From Linux machine to windows machine using a second
network card and a hub.

I have an external ip 213.96.xxx.xxx
my internal ip 172.26.0.x between router and linux machine.

My question is,if windows machines need be in other intranet
for be firewalled, the linux machine does as mail and web server too.

Thanks.
