"Thats right leckie thats the same thing that isaid
what im saying is no booting from floppy, it is using floppy to assist in booting from network "
wht leckie said makes sense. i am going to try tht. but wht u said above "it is using floppy to assist in booting from network" wht is "it"
if i have to use the floppy to do wht leckie said then it makes no sense but i dint find the word floppy in his xplanation. so....
i think the link ppuru gave does make sense. visit this site well but i am going to try leckies givens steps. i visited teh site the documenation explains alot. it says to use software on the server side which specifies all the settings. i am gonna try tht also. will let u guys know.
hey leckie thanks for the explanation alot man. i hope i dont blow the machine away.
guys now i got some more queries for u. now we have got all the machines in the server running their "x" from the server through KDM. netscape similarly and also OpenOffice org. now their are some changes like u knwo the deflaut save option and stuff like tht. now i can copy the configuration file onto all the respective directories of resp users. but thts a brutal wya to do it. how can i make the changes centrally from the server.
for example the default save option of a document file is .sxw now the no tech guys dont know the option as save as , and u know drop the menu and select ms office format.
now in the preference thrs an option for tht but i cant go into each user and do it manually. instead wht i did was copy the preference files of a setup users and paste it.
can i do this centrally, by centrally i mean i dont have to do copy and stuff instead by default whenever the remote office is installed it will haev teh following option
well, no not really. But are you creating new users. if so you can change the default new user profile to include files from office preconfigured. So just like windows, you setup a default user, copy the profile over and every new users created uses a copy of this profile.
Though this is not very usefull for existing users. But i don't think windows has a solution for this either.
though i left windows at win98, so who knows
