Bonding etho, eth1 and wlan0

Hi,

I am trying to bond eth0, eth1 and wlan0 to the same ip address. I am able to eth0 and eth1 to the same ip address. I can't seem to bond wlan0 to that same ip address.

I am running Funtoo Linux. Funtoo was created by Daniel Robbins. He is the same guy who created Gentoo Linux.

Funtoo is similar to Gentoo, but not exactly the same.

Can someone give me a hint about where to start in regards to getting wlan0 to bond to the same ip address as eth0 and eth1? I have got the drivers loaded and wlan0 works as a wireless network client. I am trying to create a wireless router with a Linux box.

Sincerely,

Don James

you can't bond them, that makes no sense, a bonded connection is used for link aggregation. Both connections need to go off in the same direction, and wifi clearly isn't. I think you are really looking for bridging, right? Read up on the bridging howto at tldp.org and other documentation and given how far you already seem to have gotten with bonding configuration, you should be able to get a bridge up reasonably easily.

Hi Chris,

Yes, that's what I've found out -- I need to use a bridge, not a bond.

I found hostapd and installed it. Evidently, this is the software that runs the network in AP mode.

Now, the next question is: How do I set the network adapter to "access point" mode?

Thanks,

Don James
