Question bittorent ?????????????????

Completely new to this form of sharing. Been told that it's the best way to download. I have visited Bittorent web site but can't make out what I should be downloading and why. Can anyone tell me in easy to do step by step instructions what to download and put where without all the technical crap. Many thanx.
