Bind Servers

Hey Guys gals...

question for the dns experts

i'm runing 2 dns servers ns0.systes.net and ns1.systes.net
ns0 is the primary server and ns1 is the Slave

is it better to have a masters and a slave casus my ip is not static but there is no time limet to a IP address i get and sooner or later i'm going to have to reboot one or all of my servers

just wondering is it needed to have a slave dns server or better to have 2 primarys insted??? this way if i have to reboot one the others got the information while i reboot the other one no information is lost.. then as soon as i reboot i update the rebooted dns server with new ip information asn same the the other server this way as long as on is runing while the other is rebooting i shouldn't have a problem??

the 2 dns servers hold about 30 other server's IP's... LOL your probley saying dam!!! too bad there not static ip's.. well i run a t1 line just that i an't to up and up on the 60$ each more per ip address 1300 what i pay know i'm to cheap to fork out more so any ideas or answers are helpful

you cant have 2 primaries for the same zone.

I dont know what your doing there with 30 servers and no static IP's but it sounds like you have all of your servers exposed to the internet. you might want to look into a router with NAT or setting up an old system as one, and haveing static private IPs on the servers. that way any service that needs to be exposed to the outside world can be through port forwarding, you have static IP's on the server as it should be, and you would be slightly more secure.
