Bind server and Home Lab

I want set up DNS bind server in a home lab, is that possible without a static IP and a domain name to the interenet.

I will be using RHEL3. Thanks for any advance input.

What do you want the DNS server for?

I use bind for all my internal resolutions, but rely on external DNSs for my web/mail.

Judging by "home lab" i assume you will only be serving to other internal hosts, so the static ip and domain name arent necesary. Your hosts will reference it by its internal ip address.

If you are just getting into bind and have not got a book yet I *STRONGLY* recommend "Dns and Bind" by OReilly.
