BIND-DNS with Webmin problem

I am trying to set up an internal LAN DNS with Webmin. I've created a zone for the LAN, and A records for two virtual hosts running on Apache. The virtual hosting is working fine if I use /etc/hosts to access the web sites. But when I try to use DNS, the browser (Mozilla, if that matters) gets redirected to some site on the 'net; it is not getting name resolution from named.

But name resolution is working, at least after a fashion, because I can ping the web sites by the domain name.

So why would name resolution work with ping, but not with a brower?

More information

Can you provide us with what your ping output is? Also, cat /etc/resolv.conf, cat /etc/host.conf. Also, to make sure your zone files are working, do named-checkzone <zone_name> <file_name> and post the output of that. What I am thinking, is that when you ping, it is actually going to the site on the net, and that site is pinging back, so it is going to the same place. (The wrong place).
