BIND 9 - "Getting Started" Guide
 

Hi,

Some time ago I stumbled across an in-depth guide to setting up BIND/named. Unfortunately I misplaced the reference. :-(

The guide was far more detailed than the usual HOW-TO. It included step-by-step instructions for configuring the nameserver daemon, what you were doing at each step along the way, why you should do it, and how to check if you were successful before continuing.

If anyone has a link to such a guide, I would appreciate it grreatly if you would post it.

Well there's always oreilly.com - they have DNS and Bind (the book) available online. Not sure if it covers bind9 yet.

Well I was wrong--what I was looking for is in fact the DNS HOWTO which is available at http://www.linuxdoc.org/.

I really hate the way my memory works sometimes! :rolleyes:
