I have submitted this thread a couple of hours ago, but I don't see it on the forums, so, as it was my first post, maybe I did something wrong. If it appears twice later, sorry for that.
I have a Bazaar (bzr) server at home, just for fun. I can access to the branches in this server through bzr port (4155) from my local LAN (192.168.1.xxx). But when I'm trying to access using my public IP, I get a connection refused error.
I have opened (or so I think) the 4155 port both on the (linux) router and on the server's iptables. To do so, I used the web interface in the router and the Firestarter interface on the server. I have no knowledge to do it by hand.
The situation is that bzr, nmap and telnet refuse all of them to connect to my public IP : 4155, but if I check port availability on, for instance, http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports, then the port shows open.
So my question is: is the 4155 port actually open or not?
If it's not open, what can I do to open it? And why the web is showing it as open?
If it's open, why it's not connecting?
I can paste here iptables things if that helps, but it's too large, so tell me please which section to paste.
Thanks in advance!!
