The maximum throughput of a 100mbit/s switch is 12.5 mb/s.
This can be seen from the fact that the 100mbit/s is actually 100 mega BITS per second. So this allows us to calculate the maximum throughput of this common networking speed:
100/8(for the amount of bits in a byte) and we get.... tada! 12.5 mega BYTES per second.
But the actual max is slightly lower, probably about 10, due to network overhead, EM interference, and lost packets.
