autossh reverse tunnel

I use autossh to keep ssh reverse tunnels alive. Recently I noticed following issue: if connection between hosts is lost for more than 3 min. tunnel falls and autossh doesn't restore it back.
If disconnect lasts less than 3 min tunnel is restored fine.

Has anybody faced with this issue? How it can be resolved (except killing autossh and starting it again).
