Automatic ISP reconnect?

I am connected to the Internet at home using Freeserve's Anytime package.

I set up my connection using the KPPP wizard and a bit of info from my Windows set-up. (Currently dual-booting Mandrake 9.0 & Windows 98SE)

The connection is broken every 2 hours (standard Freeserve policy). Normally this isn't a problem, but if I want to download a large application I'm going to have a few problems.

I realise I can set up a download manager to cope with interrupted downloads, but does anyone know if there is a utility that will automatically reconnect if the connection is cut? It would save me hovering round the computer waiting to click 'connect' every so often.

There is a ppp keyword option called "persist". In RH, these options may be read from a file called /etc/ppp/options. This keyword can be listed in the file. Mandrake? Perhaps, but certainly something similar.
