Question automatic Ip assignment

hi all ,
i want to know that,

Is there any authentication done on the network layer while sending dll frame with destination mac address ?.

Study the OSI Model

I don't believe that the Network Layer even deals with the MAC Address. That is handled by the Data Link layer.
