Question Autoconfigure with DHCP?

This should maybe go in the newbie section because i really don't know what i'm doing.

I'm trying to install Slackware 9.1 on a laptop with a PCMCIA card. It has recognized the card, but i'm having trouble getting it connected. When I try to do a NFS install it wants to know what IP i'll be using, gateway, etc. Is there a way to get it to do this automatically?
