Authinicating Windows Users through Linux

OK I have manged so far to get Samba running. While I can get in to Windows shares just yet- I have decided to hold off and try somehting different.

Now that Samba runs I want to have everyone log on to the new Linux network using PW authinication.

I know how to do this in W2K server blind folded. But Linux is a new challenge for me.
If I could get this working then I could implement it and some additional security measures at work.

If you can please point me in the right direction. WHile I have both Swat and Webmin on the box it is not real clear in making
use of it for authinacation. Some examples would be greatly apreicated.

If I understand you correctly, you want to use Samba as a primary domain controller (PDC).

Here are the standard tutorials.

Let me know if you something doesn't work. Remember to include

domain logons = yes

in your smb.conf file.
