Auth in a NT domain using Squid and Winbind

I´m trying to authenticate users in a NT domain using Squid, and Winbind, as described in a few white papers, to control user access to the Internet based em groups. But all of them assumes a real NT PDC, and a Samba server. but in my configuration using Red Hat 9 and Samba 3.0.2 the PDC and the Intenet controller are the same server. My question is: can I implement such an authentication with Winbind when the PDC is the same Linux server? And How?
