Hello dudes,

I'm back with some news.. some bad news unfortunately

I updated my Fedora Core 9 to Fedora Core 10.. all works fine.. but my WIFI doesn't work..

I installed vanilla kernel 2.6.27.6.. from sources, disabled all wifi modules that i dont need.. and on fedora 9 all works FINE..

But after an update.. my atheros doesnt work anymore..

It's incredible.. I compiled again the madwifi drivers from sources after the uninstall process.. but.. same problems!

I connect my wifi card but after 1 seconds it will disassociate from the AP.

Tryed cat /var/log/messages
dmesg

but.. no kinda errors printed out..

What's that?

Have you looked at the AP log files? (Most APs will will log connections and disconnects, with reasons.)

My home network consists of a wireless/cabled hybrid DSL modem/router connected to a more powerful wireless router (and a desktop system), and both of those routers need to be rebooted every couple of weeks (i.e., disconnected from the mains for ten seconds or so) to fix DNS cache time-out problems. The symptom of needing a reboot is a few seconds of "waiting for response from <AP name>" followed by a disconnect, which is somewhat similar to your description.

Well, can you turn on the logging function? It's usually an option from the AP set-up screen(s).
