arp timeout

Redhat 8.0

What is the arp timeout? I would assume there would be something in /proc/sys/net/ipv4

I don't see anything in "man arp".

google wasn't much help. It made it seem like it was 1 minute. Does anyone know for sure?

thanks,
-Mag

Try changing /proc/sys/net/ipv4/neigh/eth0/gc_stale_time . Mine reads 60 and browsing the source it is in seconds (60 * HZ).

Why do you want to change it?

Good Luck,
chris
