Application are very slow due to lack of Network connection

Hi Everyone

I am using Fedora core version of Linux

And i am running Iptables in that

It is not the Gateway machine

Its the machine behind the adsl router.

The problem is When the internet connection is not there

then it will have the problem in booting

and it is very slow booting sometime

And even it cannot able to load the applications

What will be the problem

????

Do a "getent hosts localhost". If it doesn't return a line like "127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost" that's your problem.
