Apache Speed

I run http://virtz.ath.cx and when i have a downloads section, which is my video section, the videos are more or less 10 seconds long.
when everyone seems to click, or when i do it from school, it takes really long to just pop the download window out, also someone told me to get mod_gzip, and i did but it doesnt seem to work at all, my site is still rather slow, and if there is anyway that could speed it up please let me know, id really appreciate

You might find that using a webserver such as thttpd for the videos and apache for the rest of the site will improve performance.

i've look at it, and i dont seem to find a windows version of it, or some add on to my apache, is there any version for windows?
