APACHE - it worked, but not anymore...

im a newbie to linux

i got red hat 9, and i had apache 1.3.31 set up and running, it was all working, but then summin reset myu pc somehow, but when i logged in, it didnt work again,

i type din apachectl start in the terminal but this came up.. same with graceful

[root@localhost root]# apachectl start (99)Cannot assign requested address: make_sock: could not bind to address 80.*.184.***:80 no listening sockets avaliable, shutting down

anyone know how to fix this? its really annying, i didnt even tweak any settings, but something weird happened, im thinking about re-installing, which i dont wanna do

Any help would greatly appreciated

Cheers from stu

Ack never mind, I misread your post, thought it was just that something had already bound to port 80 before you tried to start Apache, upon rereading that doesn't seem to be the case.

dont worry, its back up now, summin weird is going on this..

wel the above statement was from last night, and it has stopped working again, i type apachectl on startup in terminal, and it keeps giving me the same error... any ideas on why this is happening?
