Apache is resolving names to ip?

I'm running apache on redhat 8.0. I was working on DNS to resolve my domain name ikwote.com to the apprpriate ip address. Funny thing is that I could type ikwote.com in the browser bar from a remote location (not inside the same network but on the lan side, friends house anywhere else)
and it would take me to the apache test page on my server, i could even type my hostname ns2.ikwote.com in the browser bar and view the test page. What i can't figure out is why? I was doing some troubleshooting and decided to stop the named daemon service and disable it. i also disabled port 53 on my router, so that no dns querries will be answered. so the only thing i can think of is that either apache is resolving it or my network card settings under the hosts tab is resolving it.
In a nut shell typing ns2.ikwote.com or ikwote.com in you're browserbar takes you to the test page but if you type www.ikwote.com the page is not found. How do i resolve this issue and be able to run more than one website and not have them all pointing to the test page. Any body have any ideas.?

on the top of my post i made a typo it should be ns2.ikwote.com and not ns1.ikwote.com

Just at the moment, it looks like the registrar for your domain is not reachable! I would hope that's very temporary. It certainly could be the source of your difficulties.

registar

actually i purchased my domain name from godaddy.com
i set it up to point to my name server ns2.ikwote.com and the ip address for it. so basically when you type ikwote.com or ns2.ikwote.com you go to the default test page on my server. I'm just wondering what I'm doing wrong since i can't type www.ikwote.com. Or maybe i didn't understand you're answer.
