apache for windows 98


hi everyone

my new question is little related to linux (sorry) but i hope u guys can help me ou.
I have installed apache in win 98. but whenever i try to run it. : it gives error and exit.
I know win 98 can run apache but dont know whats happeinig ? i dont have NIC card or modem for this Win 98 box. And I use " 127.0.0.1" as IP. can anyone help me?

in fact, now i realise, apache server dont work even eith 127.0.0.1 even in Linux... any idea

it will work with loopback...

I run an apache server on my laptop (HR9) all the time, and I use localhost (which resolves to 127.0.0.1) to view that server. Apache will work with 127.0.0.1.

Regarding you issue, I hope you realize how amazingly ironic it is that you post for MS help on a *nix help site; it appears that you do.

To help with you issue, we'll need to know what error it is your are getting. Also, what version of Apache are you attempting to run, and did you run into any issues durring install.

Hope this thread doesn't get tossed because of the topic.
