AOL DSL on Fedora core 2

My friend has AOL DSL, and just got Linux Fedora Core 2 and Knoppix Live CD, No matter what he does he can not seem to get Linux to connect to the internet without the software on linux. We have tried a lot of things, toss out one that works and he'll will be forever greatful, He loves linux so far, easy to use and so much less buggy and safe than windows, just AOL is a pain.

Should be able to setup a DSL connection using pppoe. Try using the GUI network configuration tool. You can also use the command line tools: adsl-setup to configure, adsl-start to connect, adsl-stop to disconnect. See man pages for command details.

When configuring ppoe when it asks for username use the complete emaill address i.e. username@aol.com.

I am flaks bud, FYI internet works great now, dunno how really, but I am thankful, I just set the PPPoE up in WinXP and logged to Linux and it worked. Thanks for the reply. This really rocks, it will take a while to get used to linux but I am loving it so far, on to the next step, how to install things lol.

But this morning I got on and it would not work, I got a IP confilct on the network, but I can't find it anywhere. SSo no more linux internet :(
