any info on ipsec
1.i'd just like to know any info what is ipsec and how can it be setup on a slackware box?
what i currently know is that is a ipsec is a tunnel just like vpn. 2. can it be possible to work from a live ip slackware box(office)? 3. any requirements needed? thanks :study: |
1. IPSec is an encryption protocol for VPN use. I'm sure Slackware supports it, but don't have first-hand experience.
2. I don't understand what you're asking. You want to run it on a LiveCD? Shouldn't be a problem, unless you want to reboot :D 3. Some hardware (routers etc) don't support IPSec pass-through. I've had to replace my home router with one that will support IPSec pass-through in order to conect to my office. |

hi thanks for prompt reply in # 2 what i mean is, if thats possible on a slackware with public ip :) thanks again |
the ip on a box doesn't matter.

As acid_kewpie says, the IP address doesn't matter...
Just make sure there's no firewalls (on your PC or your router or ISP) blocking the ports, and that your hardware supports it (some routers with NAT won't do proper pass-thru) |
thanks guys! :)
