Any free CVS host (not SourceForge.net)
 

Hi there

Do anyone know any free CVS host?
I tried

+ Sourceforge.net (I don't like it because just need a place to save my Java files - not enough to register for a project),

+ CVSDude (this's good, but it only permits 2 MB),

+ freepository.com (this's big - but it only support "cvs ssever", which the Linux installations at my University doesn't support (and I can't install the new module).

Is there any other?

Can you download the precompiled Linux client to your workstation? You don't have to "install* anything, just drop it on your PATH. Your homedir would work just fine, so long as you mod your PATH so that you pick up the new cvs binary there before finding others on the system PATH. Follow the HOWTO on the site for complete setup detals.

You can also connect to freepository via an sserver-aware plugin in Eclipse, which wouldn't require any action on the part of your University. (unless they don't have | block Eclispe, or otherwise block the installation of plugins).

The sserver protocol is now included in CVSNt and TortoiseCVS (these require a 'version=1' string, see the site for details), so accessing freepository is now available with those popular clients as well. Finally, you can also *always* use the web client.
