Another FTP Question (simple)

I read a few posts on this subject, and still receive the following error when I connect to my machine from a remote location or via the ipaddress. I am using vsftpd, installed with the default configuration file on RH9.

When I use:

//localhost
- I get my pub directory located at /var/ftp/pub

When I use:
//68.77.**.* (my ip address)
-I get 425 Security Bad IP Connecting

Is there a particular line in the configuration file that I need to modify to allow IP's to be used to login to the ftp server?

Thanks,
J

By default, ftp will allow connections from anywhere.

The two most likely things that might be blocking ftp are TCP Wrappers and your firewall.

To check TCP Wrappers, look in /etc/hosts.deny and hosts.allow and look for a line starting ALL or ftpd. The firewall depends on which firewall you are using.
