alternative of netscan ipscanner in windows for linux..?


hi

I have been searching the net for finding a software which can scan

the entire network(which i may specify the range) and find the files

which r shared.I want both the files frm windows servers n linux

servers.I want a software similar to netscan in windows...

I will be glad if neone point to me this one r some thing related

If you are running KDE, you could install smb4K and give it a try. You tell it what workgroup to scan. There are probably more.

netscan for linux

Netscan is a very handy tool so i decided to develop one myself. You can download it from



I named it sharescanner ( netscan for linux ) and i have created 32 and 64 bit debian packages for easy installation. It is actually a gui for smbclient.
