adsl-start says connected, but I can't browse!

I've installed rp-pppoe, and when I run adls-start it says ".Connected". However, when I run firefox, I can't go anywhere. Anybody know why? I'm sorry for the lack of details. That's really all there is to say.

Is it safe to guess that your ISP uses DHCP ... so verify if you got an IP address.
Open a console window, login as root and type:
Code:
ifconfig
If you received an IP, try to ping a website (domain name and IP)
Code:
ping google.com
ping 216.239.39.99
