adsl-start problem on FC2 with VIA VT6103

Hello,
I have previously installed FC2 to my EPIA mini-ITX. After colorful trial-and-error process due to my limited experience with Linux I have been able to install via-rhine driver and activeted it. I have run netconfig and adsl-setup.
'ifconfig -a' gives the following message (this is just part of it):

eth0
Link encap: Ethernet HWaddr 00:40:63:C9:17:8D
Inetaddr:fe80::240:63ff:fe9:178d/64
Scope: Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU1500 Metric:1 .....

When I try to run 'adsl-start' I get the following:

/sbin/adsl-start: line 215: 3397 Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1

Running 'adsl-status' gives a "Link is down" message.

I can activate the driver using the internet setup window. It shows something like this:
"Finding an IP ....Done"

Still the Mozilla cannot find any internet address. My ISP is providing dynamic IP. The connection works in my laptop with XP.
If I have network cable connected during the start-up, OS freezes during the step where it is setting up a hostname.
What am I missing..? I mean other than experience.

I don't believe your ISP gives out IPv6 addresses. So I suspect you made some mistake in netconfig.

I suggest you check your internet settings in windows and try to set it up the same in linux. E.g. do you use PPPoE or just raw IP over ethernet?

Thanks r0b0. I checked with my ISP. The connection that I am trying to setup is bridged Ethernet over ATM. Not sure if this is what you were talking about.. How am I supposed to set it up?

Newbie is an overstatement with me..
