adsl-setup : what else to configure?
 

i need to configure adsl on CRUX (newly installed) but always time out. i ran adsl-setup just the same as i ran it on slackware (working fine). is there any configuration/setup that i missed?

Could you tell what you did?
What does 'time out' mean?

If you are talking about connections timing out check your network settings, you will probably have to change the netmask or the broadcast address.

here is my step configuring adsl . those in <xx> are my input

enter 'server' (all lower-case) here.
If you just press enter, I will assume you know what you are^M
doing and not modify your DNS setup.

FIREWALLING
Please choose the firewall rules to use. Note that these rules are
very basic. You are strongly encouraged to use a more sophisticated
firewall setup; however, these will provide basic security. If you
are running any servers on your machine, you must choose 'NONE' and
set up firewalling yourself. Otherwise, the firewall rules will deny
access to all standard servers like Web, e-mail, ftp, etc. If you
are using SSH, the rules will block outgoing SSH connections which
allocate a privileged source port.

The firewall choices are:

hmmm... i guess my ppp0 does not exsist in ifconfig output....

Try this:
ifdown eth0
adsl-start

You can not establish an ADSL connection if eth0 is already configured for an IP.
