Angry pppoe problem: "cannot enable interface ppp0"

Hi everyone,

Like the title suggests, im having problems setting up my ADSL connection (pppoe). I have this ADSL modem (Huawei SmartAX MT800), which is connected to the computer via my ethernet card (PPPOE).

To setup the connection, i typed "adsl-setup", and followed the instructions online, after which a new xDSL interface ppp0 was created. But it does not work. This is the error i get:

Code:
[root@mayank ~]# ifcfg ppp0
/sbin/ifcfg: line 25: [: too many arguments
/sbin/ifcfg: line 26: [: -ge: unary operator expected
/sbin/ifcfg: line 27: [: -ge: unary operator expected
/sbin/ifcfg: line 28: [: -ge: unary operator expected
SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device
Error: cannot enable interface ppp0.
I am using Fedora Core 3. I had followed the above steps to configure the same connection in my old PC that runs Red Hat 9.0, and was successful. This connection works perfectly under Windoze, so no problems with the hardware.

Please help me out..i dont wanna use windoze..puh-leez
Thanx in anticipation,
Mayank

haanhhuy: Onigaisimasu (sp?) I think this should be another thread.
However ... try "man telnet" in a linux terminal.
