As some of you might have read from my previous posts, im hoping to get ADSL connection. However i have no experience with networks, but LANs and need advice. What ADSL modem do you suggest for me to purchase that has good Linux support?

Get a hardware router if you want a easy live. The router handles the connection with the ISP and all you need to do is connect to the router with your NIC.

Not neccesary... The best solution (IMHO) is that the ADSL equipment to be a bridge (1 phone line and 1 ethernet). No routing software inside, nothing. This kind of equipment i have tested and it's working nice - (was 2 x SDSL - 2Mbps symetric) - i mean the ideea. Think about of a CATV modem... is a bridge And with a bridge you never will have problems with drivers and stuff...
