Check your ADSL modem settings with your ISP - VCI VPI etc

Thumbs down

Hello!

The source of the error is unbelievable
The previous administrator of the server put a script in crontab that was pinging the server ip in every minute. If there was no ip it meant that there was an ADSL diconnect so the script did a network restart (however this was useless since the ppd daemon does something similar).
Now the problem was that the ISP has assigned a NEW IP, and this script tried to ping the OLD IP address, but since the ping to this address always failed, the script made a network restart each time.
