ADSL connection falls every 24 hours exactly


Hello,

My internet ADSL connection (Modem Alcatel Speedtouch) falls every 24 hours exactly.
Every days at 4 AM, the internet connection falls.
/var/log/messages tells :

Any idea ?

Thats probably your ISP giving you a new IP.

I don't think so, because I've a fixed IP, so they don't need to change anything.

I had an ISP when I lived in the states that would disconnect you every 24 hrs exactly, and the reason they gave was "The equipment needs to reset." It's probably just the phone line tests during the night. I remember the DSL tech telling me this (we became very good friends, he was always over at my house fixing the problems) after I described the time issue that we had. It whould kill itself at 7 AM every morning and not function until 9AM. We never got another explanation.
