Can someone point me to a howto for this? I've been searching the internet for a couple of hours with no luck at all. When I try to join the domain with the command:
smbpasswd -j communicci -r anubis
I get the error message:
NT_STATUS_NOLOGON_WORKSTATION_TRUST_ACCOUNT
And a bunch of other stuff that looks like it's all related to that. What am I doing wrong? What's missing here?
Okay, I figured out that what I needed to do is add -Uroot%xxxxx to the smbpasswd command. It says the domain has been joined, but the server doesn't show up in network neighborhood. Also, it still isn't accepting domain logins for access to shares. Does anyone know how to get these working?
Well, it looks as though the dns needed to be updated, which has been done. So I can see the server and the shares, but it still asks for a username and password to view the shares. I have security=domain set in the smb.conf file, is there something I'm missing for the server to accept a domain user without prompting for a password?
