Adding ftp users

Ok, so i have my very basic web server running apache2. What i now want is to allow other users from other machines across the internet to be able to ftp files on to my server in a home directory of their own.

I'm using ubuntu dapper, do i simply add them as another user as if they were to be sitting at my machine thus creating a home directory of their own to put files in?

If this is the case, can i limit the amount of space they can fill?

Please be slow.. i'm learning but slowly!

yeah you would want to add others users with the adduser command. you could remove their shell access changing their shell to /sbin/nologin. if you want to restrict the hdd for each user, you should use quotas. you would have to edit the /etc/fstab file and the usrquota and grpqouta in it to the dir where you want quotas to be implemented, qoutason and qoutaedit or something to use the features.
