Add SuSe 9.3 to NT Domain
I'll preface this post with the most generic disclaimer I can: This is the very first time I've installed and tried to use Linux.
I'm using SuSe 9.3 with a Gnome Desktop. I'm attempting to set up this system as a storage machine for nightly backups performed by our domain controller. In order for this to work, I need to be able to get this machine to authenticate on our domain. I've tried to configure the Samba client to connect to my domain, but it's not working and I don't know enough to figure out why.
I was able to get the linux box to see the domain controller 1 time. In the Samba client setup I was able to reach the "Enter information to add this machine to the domain" dialog box, but the domain username and password wouldn't go through. Every time I entered the username and password for my domain admin I got an Error box with no description text and an OK button. I unchecked the Also Use SMB Information for Linux Authencation option, and have since been unable to get the prompt for username and password again.
I've installed Kerberos through the YaST Control, but it didn't seem to have any effect. I wish I knew more what to supply to help you help me, but I've never worked with Linux before today. Any help would be great, and I'll try to provide what ever additional information I can. Thanks in advance,
--Daniel
