add mandrake as client of a windows-based domain
i'm doing work in an office for somebody who has an existing windows network, with windows small business server as the domain controller. he wants to add a linux box as a client, primarily to play around with and learn linux. i gave him mandrake 9.1.
because it has a large hard drive, he wants his windows network to be able to communicate and use the disk as storage. therefore we need to add it to the domain, and i lack experience in this area. any suggestions? (i've got the samba package installed, if that makes any difference) |
Well, to start with, I would recommend checking out the documentation on the Samba website at this link.
Then, there are quite a few threads here on LQ that deal with various Samba issues. If you run a search, it should turn up a lot :D Samba is great and not too hard to get setup. Good luck! If you have any other questions after you glance that stuff over, let me know! |
