Post Add an additional network card to RH7 Virtual on a different Subnet

I guess i miss quoted myself. We are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1 (RHEL 7.1)
I have question on RH7 networking
Situation:
RedHat7 Ent server: running on ESXi cluster as a virtual machine. We have eth0 and we wish to add a second network card. It will be on a different subnet. eg eth0 10.1.4.6 eth1 10.22.36.5 We do use static IP address, and manual MAC addresses as well. This is after the server has been built. The issue is:
It seems to be we have to use nmcli to make the changes very convoluted from RH6.

When we add the second card eth0 grabs its mac address. My coworker who is a lot more advanced then I in Linux uses the nmcli to go through a very complex set of commands to get this to work. Then after it is working I notice that eth0 is still seeing eth1 mac if I use ifconfig -a. The ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1 do show the correct mac addresses.
I would be interested to here folks take on this thanks.

rh7 was released in September of 2000 , 15 years ago
it has been unsupported for 8 years

DO NOT USE !!!!

and if you are still using RH6 ( released in April of 1999)

you really need to upgrade
the ipv4 addresses ran out ant these tow long unsupported os's do not support ipv6

the current redhat os is
Redhat ENTERPRISE Linux 7.1 ( RHEL 7.1 )
