Active ftp, konqueror
Hi
Does anyone know how to make konqueror make active ftp-connections ??
Aargg.. i hate ftp, its an outdated protocol, useless on a modern Internet with firewalls everywhere. The only reason it still lives is that ssh doesnt exist in the mind of evil-bill.
I am using quanta+ for web-projects and need to have it connect to ftp-server actively.
thanks in advance
Brian

sounds like you probably have firewall enabled. first thing i would do, would be to edit the file /etc/sysconfig/iptables-config, and change the first line to:
IPTABLES_MODULES="ip_conntrack_ftp"
just this one command makes a world of difference in how ftp works with iptables.
to enable it without a reboot:
modprobe ip_conntrack_ftp
