Accessing windows, from Linux

Hi

I am running Open Suse 11 on a computer at my work. We have about 80 other computers all running versions of windows but, I only want to connect to 2 of them. They are just computers with big hard drivers, not ftps or anything like that. It should be just like home networking.

However, the problem I am having is, they are running windows, I am on linux. I don't need to share my files or anything, I just need to be able to access the files on the two computers. How do I do this?

you have to setup windows to share its files. You typically don't want to share out C:, as that's a security risk, you're better off sharing a particular folder or folders. At that point, if you want a persistent mount, you would connect to your windows machine via Samba/CIFS, (and I'll refer you to google for that one, at least to start), or you can usually connect by going through the KDE or Gnome "Start" menu & choosing "connect to server" (or something like that - depends on your distribution and window manager); at which point you can browse the windows network just like you were on a Windows machine.
