Accessing Tomcat on windows 2000 from linux

I have two computers, linux installed in one computer(computer name is frodo) and windows 2000 installed on the other computer(computer name is samson). the problem is that i want to access Tomcat installed on windows 2000 from a browser on linux. so if i try to access http://samson:8080 from linux, it fails. it is in the same network. even though i use http://192.168.1.101:8080(which is ip of windows 2000), it fails.

is there any configuration that i have to make? it's hard to learn linux. I am a super newbie...
