accessing linux from windows 98

i have samba server installed on my redhat linux 9.0
now when i access this samba machine from a win98 system then it uses a default (resource/username) //gaurav//ipc$ and asks for a passwd
and everytime it gives an error of passwd not found
from a winxp machine it asks for a username then for passwd and allows access for the same .
please help in this matter

rather than:
security user

in smb.conf

if password security is not necessary - press <enter> at password prompt
