Accessing a PC over the net

At school, I've been trying to access my box through SSH over the net, but it's not working since we're behind a proxy.. (HTTP and SOCKS4)
Port 22 is not working..... and so I want to know what my options are for accessing my PC via SSH or VNC from behind this proxy.
Using the SOCKS4 proxy, the connection freezes, but with the HTTP proxy I get:
"Proxy error: 502 Proxy Error ( The specified Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port is not allowed. ISA Server is not configured to allow SSL requests from this port. Most Web browsers use port 443 for SSL requests. )"
So, would port 443 fix the problem?
Thanks for any suggestions...

Just ask the school's admin to open a port for you.
He could even use something non-standard such as 22000.

Could try using SSH on a non-standard port with the -D flag.
